Trained in the Philippines under the strict and watchful eye of the late Rev. Ben Abante, Sr. (better known as Tatay Abante), Pastor Max had learned so many things in the Lord’s vineyard such as the love for lost souls and love for God’s servants.  Little did he know that God will use him to pioneer a church in New Jersey, Bergen Bible Baptist Church.  These words have been planted in his heart and mind:  “Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.  And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also”  II Timothy 2:1-2.

To better equip himself in the ministry, on the 31^st of December, 1985, the International Bible Institute & Seminary of Florida awarded him a Bachelor of Theology diploma.  He also attended the Hawthorne Evening Bible School for three years and was awarded a certificate in June 14, 1987.   He attended various Leadership Seminars and conferences to learn more and become a better servant of the Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ.

Pastor Max had proven to be a loving father, close friend, and wise counselor to most of the charter members who were young people during that time.   Many of them now have families of their own, living godly lives, bringing up their children in the ways of the Lord, caring so much for souls going to a Christ-less eternity, and faithfully contributing to support the church and missionaries around the world.  Many families have come and gone but the message of the church is still the same:  Love God and love others!  That is the reason why we proclaim God’s Good News of salvation to everyone.

For almost 44 years now, Pastor Max has been married to Sis. Josie Rendal-Mendoza.  They are blessed to have two daughters, Myra and January, and four granddaughters, Emily Claire, Elisabeth Grace, Evangelyn Joy, and Elayna Faith.

The Lord God also gave him the opportunity to have a secular job at Stanley Black & Decker for the past twenty-three years as a Customer Service Consultant.  He loves this job because he interacts with people every day and is able to share the simple plan to salvation, given the chance.

God has daily loaded Pastor Max, his family, and the church family with abundant blessings.  GLORY TO GOD ALONE!
